Université Nantes Aviron (UNA)

Julia Michalska (licenciée à l’UNA) et Magdalena Fularczyk, les polonaises médaillées d’or en double de couple féminin (2xF) aux Championnats du monde de Poznan 2009 effectuent actuellement un stage intensif à l’Université Nantes Aviron. En compagnie de deux autres rameuses internationales polonaises et de leur coach, les athlètes préparent actuellement le quatre de couple polonais qu’elles présenterons lors des jeux Olympiques de Londres, en 2012.

Depuis leur arrivée à Nantes, le 4 janvier 2010, les rameuses de l’équipe nationale senior de Pologne s’entraînent au club de l’Université Nantes Aviron. En stage intensif, ces rameuses de très haut niveau quitteront le club le 19 janvier.

En hiver, période de travail foncier dans le milieu de l’aviron, les sportives et sportifs de haut niveau cherchent à s’immerger dans une ambiance de travail en effectuant des stages dans des lieux ou pays qui offrent des conditions propices à ce type d’entrainement. Ce qui les attire à l’UNA, ce sont d’abord le rayonnement devenu international du club, les bonnes relations entretenues avec ces équipes, mais également la réputation du bassin d’entraînement dont nous disposons : l’Erdre. Cette rivière offre des conditions très favorables à la pratique de l’aviron et permet de ramer sur de longues distances, ce qui est apprécié, particulièrement pour le foncier hivernal.

C’est ainsi que, depuis mi-décembre 2009, le club a également accueilli les équipes nationales d’aviron de Grande-Bretagne, juniors et seniors espoir de moins de 23 ans (féminines et masculines), qui ont, elles aussi, choisi d’effectuer leur stage intensif d’hiver à l’Université Nantes Aviron.
